This event will raise funds for the Oregon-Jerusalem Historical Society, a group that maintains a wonderful museum, featuring a unique old schoolhouse. This fundraiser will be held in the Jerusalem Township Community Hall. Despite being so close to the large metropolis of Toledo, the area has plenty of old barns. I'll deliver several of their paintings for sale to help the society - from a barn tour we did last year.
Unlike in other events, I won't be doing a painting demo, using palette knives and impasto technique, of an old barn. But other paintings of Lucas County barns will be for sale, benefiting the historical society. I'll be telling stories about some of the barns I've painted over the years - in Ohio counties and in other states. The event is free and open to the public (a donation to the historical society will be voluntary and much appreciated). THERE WILL A BOOK SIGNING - Historic Barns of Ohio, which lists the paintings and essays of barns in all 88 Ohio counties (released by The History Press, March, 2021).
I'll also sign my full-color books, Round Barns of America and Stone Barns of America, published by Acclaim Press. The second volume of stone barns (west of the Mississippi) should be available, too.
The event will also feature a wonderful, homemade spaghetti dinner ($15, which also benefits the society).
